The 2015 event took place on the 5th July and proved that the event is becoming increasingly
successful with returning visitors and new attendees enjoying the event.
The weekend didn’t start well however with the organisors own vehicle emitting smoke
from the near side wheel just outside Tunbridge Wells on it’s journey from Hertford.
A suspected wheel bearing issue, it kept the vehicle out of service on the day,
but subsequently turned out to be a rubbing brake and was fixed with a minor adjustment.
The day itself began with rain, the first poor weather we have had in years, even
this didn’t deter some of the brave in travelling on the top deck of an open-topper
as shown by some of Peter Larkham’s photos. Fortunately the weather brightened up
in the afternoon.
Many thanks to the following:
Our Sponsors Caffyns & Brewer’s
The station manager at Eastbourne Graham Thrower
The Marshalls - Roger Miller, Brian & Andrew French, Mick Isaacs & Roy Meller
The owners & crews of the vehicles.
Those who attended and purchased a programme thereby helping to contribute to the
huge costs in staging the event.
And finally to Steven Wood for organising the event. Steven spends many months in
preparation for the day and it has normally been with little recognition as in the
past he has been updating the website and writing the report.
